This creamy, sweet, and irresistible chocolate chip cookie dip is perfect for tailgates and parties. Made with simple ingredients and ready in under 10 minutes, it’s a crowd-pleaser that pairs perfectly with pretzels, graham crackers, or apple slices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften cream cheese and butter by letting them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or microwave in 10-second bursts until soft but not melted.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together on medium speed until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides halfway through.
  3. Add the brown sugar and powdered sugar. Beat on low speed first to prevent sugar from flying, then increase to medium speed and beat for another 2 minutes until light and creamy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and pinch of salt (if using). Beat on low speed just until combined.
  5. Turn off the mixer and fold in the chocolate chips gently with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or chocolate chips as desired.
  7. For best results, chill the dip in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to let flavors meld and firm up slightly.
  8. Transfer to a serving bowl, smooth the top, and optionally sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.

Notes

Make sure cream cheese and butter are truly softened for a smooth texture. This dip can be made up to 24 hours ahead and stored in the refrigerator. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled. For a dairy-free version, use plant-based cream cheese and butter.
