Easy Halloween Mummy-Wrapped Hot Dogs - featured image

A quick and easy Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough with olive eyes, ready in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hot dogs (all-beef or turkey)
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Unsalted butter, melted (or plant-based butter)
  • Brown sugar
  • Olive slices (green or black)
  • Pretzel sticks (optional, for pupils)
  • Mustard or ketchup (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough and press seams together firmly.
  3. Brush the entire sheet of dough with melted butter.
  4. Place a hot dog at the wide end of a dough triangle and roll it up tightly to create ‘bandages’. Trim excess dough.
  5. Place two olive slices on top of the wrapped hot dog for eyes.
  6. Place mummies on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving an inch between each.
  7. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of brown sugar on top of each mummy.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is puffed and golden brown.
  9. Cool for 2-3 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Ensure hot dogs are at room temperature to prevent soggy bottoms. Seal dough seams on the bottom to prevent unraveling. Do not overfill with hot dogs as they may not cook through. For extra crispiness, broil for the last 30 seconds. Can be frozen before baking.
