Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (150g) mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup (150g) strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup (150g) blueberries
  • 2 cups (480g) vanilla Greek yogurt
  • Honey or pure maple syrup (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) crushed graham crackers or vanilla wafers
  • Whipped cream (homemade or store-bought)
  • Mini marshmallows (optional)
  • Red and blue sprinkles (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
  • Water (a little, for syrup base)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Berry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup mixed berries, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Heat over medium-low for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until berries soften and mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let cool. (Alternatively, mix honey with a pinch of cinnamon if skipping syrup.)
  2. Prep the Fresh Berries: Rinse an additional 1 cup strawberries and blueberries. Slice strawberries thinly and pat dry gently with a paper towel to avoid watery layers.
  3. Mix the Yogurt Base: In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups vanilla Greek yogurt and 2 tablespoons of the cooled berry syrup. Set aside remaining syrup for drizzling.
  4. Layer the Desserts: In serving glasses or jars, start with 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers, add a layer of yogurt mixture, then a handful of fresh berries. Repeat layers until glass is almost full, finishing with berries on top.
  5. Top It Off: Add a dollop of whipped cream and drizzle remaining berry syrup. Sprinkle mini marshmallows or red and blue sprinkles for a festive touch.
  6. Chill Before Serving: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld. Serve cold.

Notes

Use firm berries and pat dry to avoid soggy layers. Chill whipped cream bowl and beaters if making homemade whipped cream. Kids can layer their own jars for fun. Syrup can be skipped or replaced with honey and cinnamon. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator up to 2 days. Use dairy-free yogurt and whipped topping for dairy-free version. Frozen berries can be used but should be thawed and drained well.
