Easy Spooky Halloween Fruit Tray: 5 Healthy Party Ideas

Easy Spooky Halloween Fruit Tray - featured image

A quick, healthy, and visually striking fruit tray perfect for Halloween parties or last-minute snacks. This recipe uses simple ingredients like bananas, grapes, and pineapple to create spooky shapes like mummies and ghosts without any cooking required.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups green seedless grapes, washed and dried
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks, cut into triangles
  • 2 medium green apples (Granny Smith), sliced into thin rounds or wedges
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 large orange, peeled and separated into segments
  • 1/2 cup vanilla or plain Greek yogurt (optional, for slime)
  • Small handful of blueberries (for eyeballs)
  • White cheese slices (mozzarella), cut into strips (optional, for mummy wrappings)

Instructions

  1. Prep the workspace by clearing the counter and washing all fruits thoroughly. Pat grapes and apples dry with a paper towel to ensure presentation stays neat.
  2. Make the ‘slime’ by peeling bananas and mashing them in a mixing bowl with a fork until almost smooth. If using yogurt, stir it in now for a thicker consistency. Set aside.
  3. Cut the pineapple into triangles, removing the core if fresh. Arrange these on the platter first as the largest visual element.
  4. Slice the apples into thin rounds. For ‘ghosts’, cut small circles out of the slices; for ‘mummy apples’, leave them whole. Arrange apple slices around the pineapple.
  5. Assemble the mummies by placing a grape on a small strip of cheese and wrapping the cheese around it. Alternatively, arrange grapes in clusters to look like eyes. Place these strategically on the platter.
  6. Scatter orange segments around the platter for color contrast. Place blueberries on top of the yogurt slime or on cheese slices to create eyeballs.
  7. Step back and adjust any pieces that are falling over. Add extra grapes for fullness to achieve a chaotic but organized spooky look.

Notes

[‘Use ripe bananas for easier mashing and better sweetness.’, ‘Dry fruits thoroughly to prevent cheese from sliding off grapes.’, ‘Add a squeeze of lemon juice to the banana slime to prevent browning.’, ‘Soak apple slices in salted water for a minute to keep them bright.’, ‘Serve at room temperature for best flavor.’, ‘Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours; do not freeze.’]
