A quick and easy snack tray featuring fresh fruits, crunchy nuts, cheese, and a homemade herb dip, perfect for family fun during fireworks nights.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Seedless grapes (red or green)
  • Apple slices (tart or sweet), thinly sliced
  • Cubed sharp cheddar cheese (about 1-inch chunks)
  • Creamy mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained and patted dry
  • Roasted almonds
  • Lightly salted pretzel sticks
  • Cucumber rounds, about 1/4 inch thick
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Herb dip: 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill, 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley, squeeze of lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Dark chocolate chunks or dried apricots
  • Optional garnish: Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Rinse all fruits and veggies under cold water. Hull and halve the strawberries, slice apples thinly and toss lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning, and slice cucumbers into 1/4 inch rounds. Set aside.
  2. Cube the cheddar cheese into bite-sized pieces. Drain mozzarella balls and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, chopped dill and parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir well and adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Place the dip bowl near the center or side of a large serving tray. Arrange fruits, cheese, nuts, pretzels, and veggies around the dip, grouping colors for visual appeal.
  5. Garnish with fresh basil leaves or extra herbs. If using, tuck in chocolate chunks or dried apricots in small piles where space allows.
  6. Before serving, check for any bruised fruit or wet spots and gently dab if needed. Cover loosely with plastic wrap if prepping ahead and refrigerate until ready.

Notes

Toss apple slices in lemon juice immediately after slicing to prevent browning. Keep cheese chilled until just before serving to maintain shape. The herb dip can be made up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated. For a dairy-free version, use vegan cheese and plant-based yogurt. Toast nuts and pretzels lightly before assembling for extra crunch and aroma. Store leftovers in airtight containers and consume within 24 hours for best freshness.
